Welcome to the Ellendale Library
I am thrilled to be the librarian at Ellendale Elementary School again this year!
Library classes support and inspire students to develop skills and interests that serve throughout their academic careers and beyond. We follow standards developed by the American Association of School Librarians that parallel and enhance standards-based student learning in all their classes. Students in kindergarten to second grade visit the library weekly. Students in grades 3 to 5 visit every other week.
Additionally, the library is open for circulation for at the following times:
- 7:45-8:00am after checking in with their teacher. All students must leave the library by 8:05am.
- A Week: Tuesday-Friday 9:05am-9:50am
- B Week:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8:15-9am
- Monday - Wednesday: 2-2:45pm
Literacy, of course, is at the center of all types of learning, whether print, digital, artistic, scientific or language-based. It is my joy and my privilege to work at the intersection of all these! Students are encouraged and expected to check books out weekly -- I encourage parents to read with and to their kids of all ages. We all work hard to maintain and build an interesting collection of resources in the library to support student learning throughout their elementary years.

Donations: The library accepts book donations of all kinds, as long as the giver understands that not all books are meant to be on library shelves. Paperbacks, books of which we have multiple copies, and books that do not meet the selection criteria may be added to our giveaway shelves or be donated elsewhere.
If you'd like to be sure your donations meet our needs, access our library wishlist here. While that list takes you to Amazon, the library will happily accept hardback or library-bound books purchased locally or elsewhere!
