I am thrilled to be the librarian at Ellendale Elementary School this year!
Library classes support and inspire students to develop skills and interests that serve throughout their academic careers and beyond. We follow standards developed by the American Association of School Librarians that parallel and enhance standards-based student learning in all their classes.
Literacy, of course, is at the center of all types of learning, whether print, digital, artistic, scientific or language based. It is my joy and my privilege to work at the intersection of all these! Students are encouraged and expected to check books out weekly -- I encourage parents to read with and to their kids of all ages. We all work hard to maintain and build an interesting collection of resources in the library to support student learning throughout their elementary years.
Look for library updates here! Parents can also log in to SeeSaw to see what's happening in their children's library classes.
Our expectations in the Ellendale Library are:
In this library we:
- Listen to the librarian.
- Follow instructions.
- Give each other their personal space.
- Use kind words.
- Walk safely.
- Treat library books & property with care.
- Ask for help.
