Welcome to Mrs. Cummings' page. I am one of the teachers for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade resource and co-teachering. This is my 20th year at Ellendale Elementary and my 30th year of teaching. I am thrilled to be part of Bartlett City Schools.
I know that God called me to be a teacher. I knew from a very early age that I wanted to teach and that special education was my calling. I have an undergraduate degree in Special Education from Memphis State University and a graduate degree in Special Education from the University of Memphis. Go Tigers. I am the resource teacher for 4th grade reading and math co-teacher for 4th grade as well as the 5th grade reading and math resource and coteacher. I love being in the general education classes and getting to work with a variety of students including those with special needs. I will be serving as the Instructional Coach this year at Ellendale in addition to my regular position and look forward to working particularly with our new teachers. I am available to answer any questions you may have about my class or our special education program. I may not have the answer, but I will certainly try and find someone who does. My email address is email@example.com or you may reach me by calling the school at 373-2636.
My husband Gary and I have been married for almost 29 years. We have 3 sons. Garrett is 24, Brennan is 21 and Peyton is 19. We live in the Ellendale district and all of our boys attended Ellendale when they were in elementary school. Garrett just got engaged and we are very excited that he will be getting married next year.
I am involved in the community through a variety of activities including the PTA, Alpha Delta Kappa teacher’s organization, BEA, TEA, and NEA as well as our church Ellendale Baptist.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with my family. We enjoy outdoor activities. Our boys love to hunt and fish. I like to cook, especially desserts. These just happen to be my weakness as well. I love sweets. I don’t drink coffee, but you will always find me with a Diet Mt. Dew in the mornings.
I look forward to another wonderful year with Bartlett City Schools because There's No Place I'd rather B!
